Hi,

I want to share 1 huge data file to multiple users, but want that users should be able to view information tagged against there employee code only.

(we login to system using a unique user name)

Please guide.

Emp code Date Amount
1 1-Jan-15 10
6 1-Jan-15 10
9 1-Jan-15 10
1 3-Apr-15 10
5 3-Apr-15 10
4 3-Apr-15 10
9 3-Apr-15 10
9 10-May-15 10
1 10-May-15 10
3 10-May-15 10
2 10-May-15 10
2 25-Jun-15 10
7 25-Jun-15 10
8 25-Jun-15 10
10 25-Jun-15 10

On a basic level, you could filter the first column to their emp. code. Either filter in place, or filter and copy (maybe Advanced Filter?).

My follow-up is, how secure does the information need to be? If you have it all in same workbook, you need to be willing to risk letting anyone who has access to the book be able to read any data in it...because there's simply no way to make XL that secure.

So, if this is for a time card type system, where low-critical info, then we can go ahead. If this has SSN or salary type information...you'll want to go a different route.
