Interesting Market Share Visualization

I recently came across this interesting way to present market share changes over time and across competitors. Is there a way to create it in Excel? It would be fun to try that

The only drawback to this is that when you don't have a full column assigned (where one series ends and another starts), it becomes tricky to calculate based on the column being split into blocks. Not ridiculously but a side-by-side 100% stacked will always win this argument, they make look boring but they sure do work!
