Data validation list on a data validation list

In cell C17, I have a data validation drop down list with some values. Each of those values have also been defined as named ranges.

In cell D17, I am setting up a data validation list which will use the value in C17 as the named range. My data validation formula is: =INDIRECT(C17)

I get an error message saying: "The source currently evaluates to an error."

These named ranges are not dynamic ranges (not sure if this matters).

What am I doing wrong?
 
Hi ,

The INDIRECT function does not work with dynamic named ranges ; can you post the definition ( the formula in the Refers To box ) of the named range whose name is in C17 ?
