Excel 10 PowerPivot table - Relationship not working as expected

Hi All,

The start schema that I have is pretty simple. File attached.

On one table I have address info, on the other I have spend information. I can linked both through a unique identifier.

What I'm expecting to see if:

Supplier | City | Spend
ABC Chicago 5,000

What I'm seeming is:

Supplier | City | Spend
ABC Chicago 4,000
(Blank) 1,000

For some the results are good, for other is not in the sample file. However, when I do this with all the data (2k rows for one table and 30k for the transaccitional table), I actually don't see any information in the City column.

I'm using Excel 2010 (32 bits).

Thanks for your help.

Regards,

Fernando

Hi,

You need to create a table (or a couple) which list the values you are looking to filter out. It must contain only one instance of each value. Keep the field names the same between the two tables so excel finds the relationships on its own. It may have only one field.

Then create a power pivot table with the row source with the field from the table you created above. In the value areas, put the fields from your data source.

Hope this helps.
