Add data from preceding cell in addition to available formula

I need help with the formula please, attached the file.
In "# Planned" column of Summary tab, from cell D6 the cell should add up values from preceding "# Backlog" (Cell F5) column in addition to the available formula in "# Planned".

I suppose your basic problem is the fact that if you add + F5 to your formula it is giving a #VALUE error because you are trying to add a text and a number. Is that right?

If so, is there a specific reason why you are populating blanks "" on error instead of say 0?

You got the point right, which i missed to realize that why this error message.
The reason for populating blanks instead of 0s is, i dont want to see any value in the cell if it is not found. Please help me overcome this situation.

The only simple way I can think of is to introduce a 2nd column for #Planned where you do some empty and number checking and add the backlog.

I've done it in the attached. See if that is good enough.
