Copy and Paste a Formula

I use the copy and paste functions a lot to copy formulas from one row to the next, but recently and out of the blue, the pasted formula shows up as the product from the copied cell, not the actual product of the numbers in that row. For example, if the sum at the end of row 1 is 15 and the sum at the end of row 2 is 20, when I cut and paste the formula at the end of row one into the end of row 2 it still says 15. HOWEVER, if I double click on the end of row 2, it computes correctly and changes to 20! This is happening in all my spreadsheets even when I copy and paste vLookups. I have a feeling it's a simple fix but I've spent the better part of the day looking for an answer to no avail. Please help!
