Excel limit

I have a notepad file
Size is 500 mb
Count of lines are 45 lac in Access.

I need to make multiple files based on criteria (GL Account)

There are seven GL accounts, that means seven tables will be created. Couple of files contains 12 lac rows.

I am facing 2 challenges;

1) I need to make a macro in Access that will run once instead of running seven queries.
2) Excel limit is 10,48,576 rows, how to save 12 lac rows in a single workbook.

I am using 2007 at office & 2013 at home

Can we see the format of Text file (not full 500mb)?
Do you want to pull all records? Is it to be delimited and placed in different columns?

It would be best if you can work out sample input and output (small but should represent your requirement fully).

Hi Ashish ,

Is there no date field in the data ?

Can it be segregated month-wise in different worksheets ? Or will even a single month's data exceed the Excel rows limit ?

Or any other field which will allow the data to be grouped together ?

Hi Narayan,

1) Yes, there are date fields viz. Activation Date.
2) No, we cannot segregat month-wise in different worksheets
Yes even a single month's data exceed the Excel rows limit ?
After running query, the number of rows with criteria say "GL01" shows 12 lac then how could I export all the rows in a single workbook.

Hi Shrivallabha,

There are columns like Account, Del, Circle, Product, Bill Company, Activation Date, Status, Charges, etc.

I could not upload sample file.

If you need to pull out data according to some criteria, I'd use Access
If you just want sumaries or calculations based on the data or new fields, Power Pivot
