#Name error in pivot table

Hi all
I am facing one tipical problem in pivot table
the is one calculated fields as val = qty x value
but when I add one col. in source data it is giving #name? error
Can anyone help me in this

How are you adding the new column? With your example workbook, I was able to insert a new column and fill data in w/o causing an error.

enter data in this and refresh pivot table attaching new file as same
pl. do in excel 2007

You didn't tell me how you inserted the new column, but it looks like you deleted/overwrote the original data, rather than doing an actual insert.

No, It was not owerwritten you can add more coll (viz. text, number any value in new col. and same value will be there)

I forgot to mentioned one thing please do it in excel 2007 still same error. I have done as you directed.

Strange. Appears to be a bug in the 2007 build.

My recommendation would be to either use 2003 format, or keep the Rate and Qty columns beside each other, inserting new columns to the left or right.
