New Department Names

Hi

I am tasked with generating new department names within a business.

Due to the current state of the data I can see no other way to do this than by taking the job title and attempting to create a department name from this - is there a vba that can provide me with a best possible fit for a department name based purely on a job title.

The number of jobs i need to do this for runs to around 40,000.

Its also important to define the department by the line manager at highest reports to level of each section of report and I am not sure how best to define a reports to list of names, can that also be done by vba?

Your thoughts on this are much appreciated.

Kind Regards

Ben

Hi Ben ,

It would be easier to suggest if we could have some data ; can you upload a sample workbook with enough data ?

How would you identify and resolve duplicates , if there are any ?

Hi

i remove the duplicates from my SAP report by running the remove duplicates on Excel.

Sorry - i cant provide a data file due to data laws.

Hi Ben ,

Your sample file does not have to have real data from your workplace ; it can contain random data , as long as the data layout is maintained.
