Hello, my name is Cassandra Osborne and I'm a student enrolled at Northern Virginia Community College in Woodbridge, VA. I'm employed as a logistics management specialist in Virginia.

What brings me to the forum is a question regarding picture insertion. When trying to insert a picture from inside a file that is in a folder, it can't be done. The picture has to copied outside of the folder and then it can be inserted. Is there another way to insert pictures into a file?
 
I have tried to replicate what you are doing and I am unable to, I am using insert pic from excels ribbon and going to a folder with in the pic folder and insertion works.
When you say file/folder just what are you describing?
 
What I'm describing is a compressed zip file. A file that was downloaded from a student data package attached with my textbook. Whenever I tried to insert a picture from that compressed file it would say file could not be displayed.
