skip X number of column

Hi everyone!

I'm looking for the best way make sure I skip an X amount of columns when dragging a formula to the right.

I've attached some mock data. The idea is to adapt the formula in there so that I have an idea of how many "label 1" people were coded as label_1, label_2 etc... but considering that each range (column) is every 5 column, I'd need to adapt the formula so that I wouldn't need to manually modify each cell.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks,

So

Hi Hui!

Sure - though I've managed to sort out my problem by using a helper formula instead...I realised I was over-complicating it!

I now have a formula that's counting the cells as opposed to rows and I need it to count the rows.

I've attached an updated file.

The formula is in sheet2 and counts the number of cell where for example label=1 and coded label_1=1 and I want to count the number of rows instead. Do you have any suggestions for that?

Does that make more sense?

Thanks,

Marie
