Slicer connected to text box, located on a chart?

I am using Excel 2013

My question is: Is it possible to link a word or words, in a text box to a slicer and have them change along with whatever I select within the slicer? Example:

I have the chart title, and right below that, I created a text box that relays a few more snapshots of data, that my pivot table does not already show. I would like certain words or phrases in the text box to also update when I select a given slicer. Is this possible?

Thank you in advance for any help!

Hi Afox10,

Not directly, but you can use a work-around.

Since you can create a PivotTable based on another PivotTable, you can...
Create a 2nd PT
Have the new PT have the field you are using in a Slicer as the Page field
Note which cell this page field gets displayed in
Have your shape/text box link to that cell.
Voila! You now have an item that *links* to your slicer.

If you want, you can setup an intermediary formula to handle the case when (All) is selected, maybe an IF function?

HI Nabila,

It was two different lines.
  1. Have the new PT have the field you are using in a Slicer as the Page field
  2. Note which cell this page field gets displayed in
Set the field of interest as a Page Field (Sometimes called Report Filter). Then, note which cell that field got placed in.
