SUMIF w/ Row and Column Criteria

Hi -

I want to sum or lookup data based on a column and row criteria. Basically, I want to find a number based on a month and row text description. I've attached the worksheet. 'Sheet2' has the data that I need to be populated into 'Apr' C2.

Hi Jay,

Will this be the final sheet or there will be more data on Sheet 2? If there will be data how is it layout?

I will be adding a column between E&F which will represent May 2015 and adding commission expenses in rows 7-10 that I hope to populate into tab 'Apr' C3.
 
Can you try below formula on Apr sheet C2:

=INDEX(Sheet2!$B$6:$E$6,,MATCH(MONTH(Apr!C1),MONTH(Sheet2!$B$1:$E$1),0))

Enter with Ctrl+Shift +Enter, and not just Enter.

I tried to change the formula to match text instead of months, but it comes up at zero. Would I need another type of formula?

Sorry for the late response. The first time you helped me you gave me a formula that matches month in tab 1 to tab 2, but now i'd like to match the rows with the column that states YTD.
