Transposing large column to row

I'm reaching out because I'm interested in knowing what the most effective way is to transpose a large data column (vertically) into a row (horizontally). Paste Special (Transpose) works great with smaller data sets, but is there a method to perform this function for cols with a couple thousand cells.

My rule is that the data column is in cell A1 (vertically) & I want to transpose it in A1 (horizontally).

Hi Brian,

There are 16,384 columns, so effectively you can transpose that many rows only. So Paste special method is working fast on my Excel 2010.

Can you explain you problem in details, are there any event in the file, are there formulas dependent on these values, do the file contains volatile features like conditional formatting or volatile formulas?

Regards,
